Why
Horizontal?
Speed
and Automation!!
Scheduling!
Machine capacity can be dedicated to customers' requirements.
This is ideal for ongoing orders to be shipped to a set schedule.
Pan-Tec is also able to be flexible in scheduling, since there are
multiple qualified jobs that can run at any given point. This
flexibility helps us easily interface with customers on Kan Ban, Min
Max or other inventory management programs.
Pricing!
Since a horizontal machining center is able to work more
sides of a part in a single holding, there is less set up and
operator interference; thus there are less variables to drive up the
cost of producing a part. Frequently parts are completed in one cycle!
High speed machining compounds these benefits.
Quality!
With less interference during a run comes more stability from
a quality standpoint. There is no pressure to "get a job
running" quickly, as there are other qualified jobs that can
run at any given time. This allows for stable set ups and ample
quality checks.
Summary:
Automation greatly helps Pan-Tec in its overall effort to
provide ultimate value to its customers in the form of top quality,
on time delivery, and competitive pricing.
